Wichita State University admits
degree-bound college freshmen and transfer students, as well as non-degree
students who have special interests in college credit work but no immediate
degree objectives at Wichita State.
All students entering
Wichita State for the first time must submit an application for admission to
the Office of Admissions, and all but special, open-admission students must have transcripts of all high school and/or
college work sent directly to Wichita State. Failure to report all schools
attended will result in dismissal.
Certain academic colleges within Wichita State require students to meet a
minimum GPA for admission to their colleges. The School of Business requires
that incoming students have a minimum 2.25 GPA, and the College of Education requires a
minimum 2.50 GPA.
Beginning with members of the Class of 2001, students entering WSU must meet
the requirements below.

score of 21 or above or a minimum combined SAT-I score of 980, OR 2. Rank in the top one-third of their high schools' graduating class, OR 3. Complete the pre-college curriculum with at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. |
| Non-residents must: |
1. Achieve an ACT composite
score of 21 or above or a minimum combined SAT-I score of 980, OR 2. Rank in the top one-third of their high schools' graduating class, OR 3. Complete the pre-college curriculum with at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. |
| Non-accredited high school or home-schooled students must: | Achieve an ACT composite score of 21 or above or a minimum combined SAT-I score of 980. |
| GED students must: | Have a minimum score of 510 on each sub test and an overall score of 2550 to be admitted. In addition, GED students must submit official ACT or SAT scores. |
| Transfer students with 24 or more hours must: | Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) on all previous college work. |
| Transfer students with fewer than 24 hours must: |
1. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a
4.0 scale) on all previous college work. 2. Meet one of the freshmen Qualified Admissions requirements. |
The Regents' Qualified Admissions Pre-College
Curriculum requires the following:
1. Four units of English
2. Three units of Natural Science (must include one unit of Chemistry or
Physics)
3. Three units of Mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry)
4. Three units of Social Sciences
5. One unit of Computer Technology
(One unit is equivalent to one year, or two semesters.)
