What's your favorite thing about Wichita State?
The students. They never cease to amaze me with their accomplishments,
both in and outside of the classroom.
What's your favorite Shocker sports team?
Shocker basketball! There is nothing like going to a game with
10,000 screaming fans and everyone in the arena wanting only one thing
... a win. The atmosphere is electric.
What's your favorite part of Wichita?
The Riverside neighborhood. I enjoy the museums that are there, all the
trees, the Arkansas River, and it's only minutes from the action in
downtown.
Why should a student come to Wichita State?
To grow. Students come in from all backgrounds and skill levels. The one
common thread among all of our students is they want to graduate and be
successful in their life beyond college. Time spent at WSU helps them
realize their goals and grow as people. The combination of academics,
student organizations, the city of Wichita, and all of the other
opportunities work together to develop students and show them new things
in themselves they didn't know were there.
What's the best advice you ever received about going to college?
Try new things! There are so many opportunities. Do something you
have never done before ... join a club, play intramurals, go on a road
trip with your friends, take an honors class ... the opportunities are
endless. College is a place where you can see new things and experience
different people. You will gain a tremendous amount of confidence if you
try something new.
